The Kimono is a traditional piece of Japanese clothing from the 5th century that has made it way into the 20th century with no signs of leaving anytime soon.

Kimono has been a trending style for the past few years now, and I must say I am absolutely obsessed with them and they certainly have become a styliketrina essential!

This lightweight and practical pieces have a way of making a woman feel super feminine and has the ability to add a whole new dimension to any plain old outfit, which is exactly why I have a few of my favs on repeat right now. The fact that they are both comfortable and stylish not to mention can be worn in any season is a complete bonus.

This is one of the very first pieces I pack when heading on vacation. Simplicity for its ability to be multifunctional. I’ve worn my kimonos out to dinner over a fitted dress, as a cover-up on the beach and even over undergarment in the boudoir.

Kimonos are such a versatile piece that can be taken from night to day in a pinch. Worn with a basic t-shirt,  jean and a classic white pair of converse you’re all set for a casual day look. Swap those chucks out for a pair of heels and accessorize with a statement earring and an evening bag and there you have it! A night look in less than five minutes.
